Gentlemen, We Have Boat Drinks

Quote from a Movie, Things to do in Denver When You're Dead
Perfected the Margarita
First try for Margaritas
Whatever season comes, boat drinks bring us to the sunny tropics. No umbrellas or silly tiki glasses needed. Pineapple juice, orange juice, limes, rum, coconut, cherries, or tequila is all you need, and you are on the white Kona Beaches of Hawaii or any Caribbean Island.

Nothing too heavy, coffee and cream kept to a minimum, but uplifting.

Dear CBSnews and Houston Press, tropical drinks never went out of style for boaters... Try our new local rum, Railean Rum... Boat Drinks
For the helmsman try the virgin versions until we tie up to the slip and Captain Morgan takes over.

Hot (or cold) Apple Cider Boat Drink: 1 quart apple cider, 1 1/2 cup cranberry juice, 1/2 cup water, 1 stick cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon each allspice and cloves.

Other virgin yummies to help you escape to paradise is the Hawaiian shaved ice at Kahuna Joe's in League City and Kemah. We have tried 2 different flavors and both were delicious, but it tasted more like (cubed versus blocked ice) crushed ice than the true shaved ice (felt like a real snowball) that we had in Pahoa, Big Island of Hawaii, in a food truck on the road to see the lava flow into the ocean.

See how to make Homemade Ginger Ale which is perfect on the boat to prevent motion sickness and nausea.
  • 1 c cane sugar
  • 1 T grated ginger root
  • 1/4 t yeast
  • cold water (option 1 lemon juiced)
